Frequently asked questions

We're here to help with any questions you have about mood detection.

How does Sound Credit detect moods?

We use AI built specifically for musical context, lyrics, and metadata to identify common emotional and stylistic tags for each track.

What kinds of moods can it detect?

Dozens, including common descriptors like “Energetic,” “Melancholy,” “Hopeful,” “Aggressive,” “Romantic,” and many more.

Can I change or remove suggested moods?

Yes. You can edit, remove, or add your own mood tags before exporting or submitting metadata.

Does this affect streaming platforms directly?

Not yet, but mood tags are valuable for sync licensing and A&R searches. You can export them from Sound Credit and use them wherever you'd like, as more downstream systems support tags.

Is my audio being scanned? Is anthing used to train AI?

NO! This feature does not scan audio. And, this does not use any of your data for AI training. Mood detection only generates tags. Nothing is fed back into AI models for training. See Sound Credit's #1 bullet point, the "Commitment to Creators Safeguarding Against Artificial Intelligence Training."

What if I don’t have lyrics?

The system can still generate moods based on genre, tempo, and other metadata, but lyrics improve accuracy.
